The AAO Fellowship program is an initiative jointly funded under an International Research Fellowship Agreement between the United Kingdom's Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council (PPARC) and the ARC. The Fellowship is based at the Anglo-Australian Observatory, where they carry out front-line astronomical research using the facilities of the AAO and other telescopes. In addition, they spend a small part of their time performing support duties at the AAT, where they obtain valuable experience in astronomical instrumentation and operations. The Fellowship allows young astronomical researchers to engage with world-leading facilities of the AAO, and do this form within one of Australia's most productive and innovative astronomical institutions.
