植民地期朝鮮の高等普通学校では、近代日本の旧制中学における「校友会雑誌」と酷似した体裁・内容を有する学内雑誌が発行されていた。それらは現在のところ日韓双方において網羅的に把握されておらず、収集と保存、体系的把握が急務であるといえる。そこで本研究では、旧高等普通学校時代の資料を有するソウル市内の私立高校を訪問し、資料の収集・調査を行った。具体的には私立養正高校、徽文高校、培材高校(博物館)を訪問し、各校の学内雑誌の複写を創刊号から複数号(1910年代から20年代)にわたり手に入れるとともに、各校における雑誌の保存状況を確認した。その後、養正高校の学内雑誌『養正』を中心に分析を行い、徽文・培材両校との比較や日本の旧制中学における「校友会雑誌」との比較に向けた基礎的なデータ集積を行った。徽文・培材の雑誌が朝鮮語を主体としているのに対し、養正高等普通学校の雑誌『養正』はその大部分が日本語で記されており、体裁や表現形式、生徒の論考の主題にいたるまで日本の旧制中学における「校友会雑誌」と類似性がみられる。当時養正には多くの日本人教員が在籍し、また少なからぬ数の朝鮮人生徒たちが卒業後に日本の旧制高校や専門学校へと進学していた。学内には日本の旧制中学に近い校風や雰囲気が涵養される環境があり、日本の「校友会雑誌」を参考にした学内雑誌が創刊される素地が形成されていったと考えられる。ただし一見日本の旧制中学文化を積極的に取り入れた雑誌といえる『養正』の記述の端々には、植民地期における総督府の教育政策や学校統制との葛藤が反映されている点がみられる。今後植民地期朝鮮の高等普通学校における「校友会雑誌」の歴史的位置を明らかにしていくうえで、少なくとも雑誌を単に日本の旧制中学における「校友会雑誌」の後追いととらえ、植民地エリート予備軍たちの内地への「憧れ」の結果としてのみ結論付けることは早計であり、文化受容の背後にある矛盾や葛藤に留意しつつさらに複数の学校の雑誌を収集・分析していく必要がある。なお本研究の成果は『麻布中学校・高等学校紀要』第5号(2017年3月発行予定)に掲載予定である。
