中学1年生の「材料と加工に関する技術」の学習において, 自分たちで企画し製作するといった主体的かつ能動的な活動を通して様々な力の育成から, グローバルスキルへつなげることを目的とした研究である。技術科でのグローバルスキルとは, 新しいものを生みだすために様々な考えや価値観をもった人とコミュニケーションをはかることができる力, 他者の意見を受け入れ, 円滑に集団を導こうとする力, 謙虚な姿勢で周囲と協調して取り組もうとする力の3つの人と関わる力を育成することである。まず, 企画からの製作であるため, 自分でしっかりと考えることが重要であった。製作物を通して, 見通しをもって自己の学習活動を振り返り次につなげるという点で主体的な学びが実現していた。そして, それを自分のグループに伝え, 意見し, 取り入れるといったコミュニケーション力の育成にとても関連付けられていた。限られた時間の中で, 無駄な話をしている時間がなく, 建設的な話し合い活動になったという振り返りが多くみられた。次に, 他者の意見をどう製作に活用していくか, リーダーを決めなくても, その都度良い方向に導くために各々が主導し進められるようになった。最後に, 活動が進まないことや進んでいる活動を目の当たりにすることで, 協力するというチームワークも徐々に発揮されるようになった。製作物は, 京都の北山杉等の廃材を利用した玩具製作であったが, とても良い製作物ができあがった。例として, シーソーや木琴, 木馬など一人製作では難しい多種多様なものができあがった。学校でも置いていると遊んでいる生徒もいたため, 幼児にとってもとても魅力的な製作物となった。本研究を通して, 生徒の見方や考え方から, 発想の素晴らしさを感じた。また, 自ら企画し製作する難題をクリアした充実感や他者との関わり方や必要性を感じたという感想からグローバルスキルの育成につながったと考えられる。
