1、目的本研究は、近年に情報公開された防衛研究所戦史センター史料をもとに、太平洋戦争の実態を現地に残る遺跡を通じて、史料と遺跡を通じ、解明することが目的であり、戦争体験者から併せて聞き取りを実施するものである。そして、できるだけ多くの戦史遺跡の踏査・記録化を進め、平和学習の基礎資料とするものである。戦争遺跡の分布図を作成を目指す。2、方法既に位置を確認している防衛省防衛研究所戦史センター史料の福岡県・佐賀県・長崎県を中心に北部九州の師団・連隊の作戦史料、地図上で具体的な位置を把握、踏査・位置を確認する。そして、玄界灘沿岸の砲台を実測する。戦史遺跡は、基本的には個体差が少なく、兵器・要塞も含めて規格品であり、遺跡、遺構の実測を進めれば、全体の構造を把握する。さらに、本土決戦計画の資料を基に踏査を実施、記録に残る記念物の実測を進めた。3、成果北部九州の福岡県・佐賀県・長崎県の本土決戦準備がなされた第56師団の陣地に残る遺構群の踏査による配置図の作成と現地踏査を実施した。①砲台関係では、対馬市豆酘崎砲台・棹崎砲台を調査し、豆酘崎砲台の砲座2門、弾薬庫1箇所、監視所1箇所の実測調査を実施した。②本土決戦関連は、糸島市の北崎砲台、北九州市の高射砲陣地の内、若松区石峯山西陣地の観測所、砲座遺構、砲側弾薬庫の踏査と実測を実施した。③海軍関係では、筑前大島防衛防備所の望楼、発電機室等の実測と波津崎防衛防備所の踏査と記録を実施した。なお、④兵器の実測として、香椎宮寄贈大砲、東郷神社の大砲、鷲見神社の水雷の実測を行った。中間報告を平成29年8月11日、福岡県古賀市リーバス古賀にて「太平洋戦争、忘れられた計画一玄界灘沿岸の戦争遺跡」の演題で講座を実施、約百人の参加があった。
