1 研究の目的から本研究の目的は, 国語科と外国語活動との効果的な連携を図った教科横断的なカリキュラムによる学習事例を開発し, 実証及び検証を通して, 求められる言語能力(コンピテンシー)の育成・方途を明らかにするものである。そこで, まず本研究で育成する言語能力の具体化を図ることとした。2 本研究で育成する言語能力(コンピテンシー)の具体化について本研究では, ことば(母語と第二言語)の機能を思考, 伝達, 創造の3つでとらえて, 言語能力の具体化を図ることとした。具体的には, 以下の3つで整理した。(1) 創造性 : ことばに関する課題について, 筋道立てて表現したり, 新たな自分の考えを創り出したりすることができる態度や能力。(2) 協働性 : ことばに関する課題について, 目的や意図に応じて, 相手を意識しながら自分の思いや考えを伝え合おうとすることができる態度や能力。(3) 向上性 : ことばに関する課題の解決を通して, 自他の変容や高まり, ことばについての気付きを価値付けようとすることができる態度や能力。3 授業-第2学年 せかいの「三びきのくま」くらべ-実践について本実践ではイギリスの民話をもとに, 日本や外国で再話された複数の「三びきのくま」を比べて読み, 同じ様子でも様々に表すことができる日本語の多様性に気付く向上性をねらった。例えば, 「his greatvoice」という原文の英語と「さけびました」, 「ほえました」, 「どなりました」と作者によって訳が違う日本語を提示し, それぞれのことばから受ける印象の違いを話し合った。その結果, 同じ大きな声でも高い声, 動物的な感じ, 怒りの大きさなど場面の解釈によって, 作者がことばを選んでいることに気付く姿が見られた。こうしたことばへの気付きは英語との比較によってとらえることができるものであり, 国語科だけでは育成することの難しい言語能力である。また, 英語の日本語訳は1つではないことや解釈によって多様な表現ができる日本語のおもしろさに気付く上でも価値があった。一方で外国語と関連させたからこそ育成できた言語能力をさらに具体的に示すことが今後の課題となった。
