研究目的コウモリ類は分類が難しく捕獲しないと分類ができないが、捕獲自体が難しいことから調査・研究があまり進んでいない。このため森林地だけでなく、里山やその周辺部でも調査は、一部のコウモリ研究者によって細々と行われているにすぎない。このような状況を改善するために、捕獲を容易にするための装置や方法等の改善が望まれている。欧米ではこれまで日本と同じようにカスミ網による捕獲が中心であったが、10年ほど前よりハープトラップを用いた捕獲が行われるようになってきた。さちに近年、コウモリ類の音声を用いた捕獲用の装置が一部の研究者により開発され使用され始めている。そこで、昨年の調査の際に収録した音声を元にして日本産コウモリの音声を用いた日本用のコウモリ捕獲装置の開発のための研究を進めることを目的とした。研究方法以下の方法で研究を実施した。現在日本におけるコウモリ類の野外での捕獲は、ほとんどがカスミ網を用いた方法によって行われている。そこで本研究では、カスミ網とハープトラップを同時に用いたコウモリ類の捕獲を実施し、ハープトラップ使用でのコウモリ類の捕獲における特性等を調査した。さらに、現在海外で使用されているオート・トラップ(ハープトラップとコウモリ誘引音声発生機器を共動させた捕獲装置)を借用して野外で実際に使いその特性について調査した。これを基にして、コウモリ類を捕獲するための新しい捕獲装置であるオート・トラップの作成のための調査・研究を行った。研究成果今回の研究実施地は、20年以上調査を継続して行ってきた場所を中心として、石川県で3カ所と岐阜県で2カ所、長野県で4カ所の森林内で実施した。これにより、長野県では初めてが全国でも6例目となるコヤマコウモリNyctalus furvus(投稿準備中)や岐阜県では25年ぶり2例目のチチブコウモリ(印刷中)の捕獲などこれまでにない極めて重要な調査結果を得ることができた。
