项目摘要

本研究は、小学生の英語に対する動機づけを英語使用者の多様性という視点から調査・分析したものである。英語学習の目的として、母語話者以外の英語使用者との交流やそれらの人々の文化に対する理解を志向した「異文化間志向」を新たに設定した。またコミュニケーション態度として、異文化の「外部者とコミュニケーションをしようとする意志」(Willingness to communicate with outsiders)を設定して調査した。ALT中心の年十数時間の活動に担任の指導による活動が加わった小学校において、活動時間数増加前後の2回、調査を行った。そして(1)担任主導の英語活動時間数の増加に伴う、小学生の英語に対する学習意欲の変化(2)英語活動時間数増加に伴う、動機づけに影響を与える環境要因の変化(3)英語活動時間数増加に伴う、小学生のコミュニケーションに関する意識の変化などを中心に分析を行った結果、以下のようなことが明らかになった。(1)本研究の対象校の児童は、活動時間数増加後も、英語活動に対し肯定的態度を維持していた。(2)動機づけには、活動時問数増加の前後とも、身近な人、学習意識、コミュニケーション態度などが影響していた。(3)担任の指導による活動時間数増加後の主な特徴として、身近な人の影響がより大きくなった。(4)児童の英語活動に対する楽しさには、英語に対する自信や友だちの影響が強いため、児童が自信を深め、級友とお互いに相乗効果を生むような活動が重要と考えられた。(5)児童の英語学習の目的には、英語母語圏だけでなく幅広い異文化の人との交流や、多様な文化を理解することも含まれており、その目的意識が高い場合も動機づけは高くなった。(6)動機づけと関係があった「外部者とコミュニケーションをしようとする意志」には、異文化の相手との多様な対応を想定していることから、コミュニケーション態度をより幅広い概念で捉える必要がある。

This study aims to investigate and analyze the motivation of primary school students and the diversity of English users. The goal of English learning is to establish a new goal for English speakers other than native speakers to communicate with each other and to understand each other's cultures. The Willingness to communicate with outsiders was set up in the survey. ALT Center's activities for ten years serve as guidance, activities for primary schools, activities for two times before and after the increase, survey (1) the increase of English activity time, the change of pupils 'English learning intention;(2) the increase of English activity time, the change of motivation, the change of environmental factors;(3) the increase of English activity time, the change of pupils' English awareness, the change of consciousness, the change of motivation, the change of environment factors; (1)This study aims to maintain the positive attitude towards English activities after the increase of children's activity time. (2)Motivation, activity time, proximity, awareness of learning, and attitude are all factors that influence the outcome. (3)As the number of activities increases, the main characteristics and the influence of people close to each other increase. (4)Children's English activities are important for children's self-confidence and friendship. (5)The purpose of children's English learning is to communicate with different cultures and understand different cultures. (6)Since motivation and relationship are intertwined, and "the will between outsiders and consumers can be understood", it is necessary to grasp the broad concept of consumers 'attitudes when considering the interaction between different cultures and the diversity of relationships.
