项目摘要

<研究目的>富士山麓における農業を中心とした生業の実態(歴史も踏まえ)、及びその垂直的土地利用のあり方を解明することにより、山麓の生業空間を明らかにする。<研究方法>富士山麓の4つの集落を研究対象とし、各集落においける生業空間を把握するため、各種文献史料を用いながら、古老への聞き取り調査を行い、生業の空間的展開の実態把握を行った。生業技術を抑えるため、1年間の農作業を観察し、聞き取り調査を実施した。<研究成果>(1)富士山東麓の小山町須走地区は、中世以降、富士登山東口の須走口として栄えてきた須走口から大御神東端までの地区である。小規模な畑作農業とわさび田経営が集落周辺で営まれ、富士登山における東口の伝統がその空間認識の基底にある。(2)富士山南東麓の裾野市須山地区は、近世に須山口として富士山の登山口として栄えた集落であり、水田稲作農耕を行わない畑作地帯であり、トウモロコシ栽培が農業の中心であった。(3)富士山南西麓の富士宮市村山地区は、特にヒノキ林の育成と茶の栽培が特色となっている地域であり、富士登山の表の中心的登山口でもあった。(4)富士山西麓の富士宮市根原地区は、朝霧高原北端にあり、駿河と甲斐の交通路、駿州中道往還が通る街道筋の集落である。現在でも毎年春に共有財産区のカヤ場では野焼きが行われ、ダイコン栽培が盛んであり、共有財産区の耕地を集落の住民で均等に分与し、富士山西麓での独特の生業空間を作りだしてきた。富士山麓の集落において農業・林業の空間的展開の実態を明らかにし、歴史的に山麓の空間的位置の性格を描くことで、富士山麓における生業空間認識を記録した。
