本研究では,日本近代における学術振興の展開を明らかにする一環として,日本学術振興会の初代理事長を務めた櫻井錠二に関連する国内外における資料について,その所在調査及び資料収集を目的とした.また,本研究費によって,各種の物品をそろえ,ある程度,研究環境を調えることも意図した.11月19日～25日,英国のThe Royal Society, University College London, Imperial College Archives, Kings College Londonを訪問し,大学年鑑,学生登録簿,書簡等の閲覧を行った.とくに研究対象とすべき原資料は見当たらなかったが,関連資料について,存在の有無やその一覧を明らかにすることは有益であった.このほか,協力研究者がいる各機関,各地の大学図書館,日本学術会議図書館を訪れ,資料収集と意見交換を行った.当初計画に含めていたドイツについては,東日本大震災に伴う減額措置により実現しなかったが,関連文献を入手することができた.一方,フランス学士院(Institut de France, Paris)への訪問が有用であることが判明したため,今後引き続き計画的に現地調査を行うことが課題である.成果発表としては,化学史に関心のある人を対象とした公開セミナーにおける発表を行った.また,学会誌への投稿を行った(査読中).今後は,図書刊行を最終的な達成目標として,研究成果の具現化を行っていきたい.近年では,図書館・文書館においてデジタル公開が進んでいるが,貴重資料は,通常,事前に許可を得た訪問閲覧が鉄則であるため,現地調査を支援する研究費の充実が重要である.加えて,奨励研究という科学研究費が,研究機関に常勤でない者にとって貴重な財源であったことを申し添える.

This study aims to investigate and collect data on the development of academic revitalization in modern Japan. The Royal Society, University College London, Imperial College Archives, Kings College London, UK, November 19 - 25, 2011. The original data of the research object is available when it is available, and the related data is available when it is available. Interviews with various institutions, local university libraries, Japan Academic Conference Library, data collection, and exchange of views were conducted. The original plan includes the following measures for the reduction of the amount due to the Great East Japan Earthquake. On the other hand, the visit to Institut de France, Paris was useful, and the investigation of the project was carried out in the future. The result is that the chemical history is open to all. This is the first time that I've ever written a book. In the future, the final goal of publishing books will be achieved, and the realization of research results will be carried out. In recent years, valuable data has been made public in libraries and libraries, and research fees have become important in general, with prior permission to access and read, and in local investigation support. Increase research, encourage scientific research expenses, research institutions often work hard, expensive financial resources, apply for additional funds.
