1.研究目的本研究ではこれまで対象にされていなかった幼児における手指の巧緻性に注目し、幼児に適した計測方法を検討・実施し、幼稚園における3歳～5歳児学年までの手指の巧緻性の発達傾向を明らかにするとともに、幼稚園生活における遊びと巧緻性の発達の関連について追究する。2.研究方法幼児の手指の巧緻性を測定する方法として、(1)おりがみ四角折り(2)マグネット移し(3)ひも結び(4)ビーズ通しの4種のテストを開発し実施した。対象は国立大学附属幼稚園の3～5歳児計147名。調査期間は2011年7～10月。遊びの傾向については保育者の聞き取り調査を実施し幼児の手指の巧緻性の発達傾向を、年齢差、男女差の発生要因から検討した。3.研究成果(1)年齢差:学年と月例の両面から検討した。全てのテスト項目において、学年があがるにつれて成績が上昇し、男女ともほぼ全ての項目で学年間の有意差は認められた。特に3歳児と4歳児学年及び男児の年齢差が顕著であった。マグネット移しとビーズ通しでは、月齢との相関性が高く、指先でつまむ作業における年齢差が高いことが明らかになった。(2)男女差:3歳児と4歳児学年では、全ての項目において、女児の方が有意に成績が高く、5歳児学年では男児の方が成績がよい項目が見られるようになり、男女差が縮小する傾向が見られた。この結果については、今回の調査対象者の特徴であるのか、幼稚園という集団生活での共通経験によるものであるのかなど対象児の生活活動や遊びの観察を継続し、今後の研究課題として検討する予定である。
