○研究目的本研究は、17世紀末から18世紀前半にかけて日本から欧州へ輸出された肥前磁器の漆装飾の全容を解明し、陶磁史における漆装飾磁器の意義を明らかにすることを最終的な目的としている。本年度は、そのための基礎的研究の一部と位置づけ、英国に現存する漆装飾磁器を対象に装飾技法やデザイン的特徴、製作年代を検討し、英国現存資料の特質と傾向を明らかにすることが目的であった。○研究方法研究の方法としては、まず、肥前磁器のコレクションを所有する英国の旧荘園領主の邸宅や博物館など13ヶ所において、漆装飾磁器と関連資料の調査を行った。そこで得られた写真データや情報をもとに、ドレスデン磁器コレクションに含まれる60点以上の漆装飾磁器の一括資料を基準資料とし、それと比較する方法をとりながら英国に現存する漆装飾磁器についての検討をおこなった。○研究成果本研究において、英国に現存する漆装飾技法が予想以上に多様であることがわかった。当初、ドレスデンの基準資料には様々な漆装飾技法が網羅されているので、英国の漆装飾もその範疇に含まれているのではないかと考えていたが、オルソープ家旧蔵品の螺鈿装飾を併用した漆装飾磁器の例のように、他では例が見られない特殊な手法が存在した。これは、加飾の時期・場所・技法の見当がつかず、今後の新たな検討課題となった。また、一見日本製の漆装飾に見えるが、実際はオリジナルではなく欧州で加飾されたと思われる例が多く存在することもわかった。英国の研究者との意見交換も有意義であった。英国における古陶磁コレクションの移動や、新たな漆装飾磁器の所在に関する情報等を得ることができ、今後の研究を展開する上で参考となった。

The exchange of views between British researchers is meaningful. The information about the location of ancient ceramic magnets and new lacquer decorative magnets was obtained and the future research was carried out.
