项目摘要

本研究では2013年12月26日～28日に台湾大学図書館において『蜻蛉日記』(特別コレクション所蔵・資料番号07221～07228)を調査した。なお、この時期の調査となった理由は、該本の虫損が激しく補修の必要が生じたためであった。特に七～八冊目はほぼ注釈部分が参観できない頁を含んでいる。さて、該本は宝暦六年版本(八冊本)で、「西荘文庫」の印記から小津久足(1804～1858)所蔵本であったと判明した。だが、どのような経緯で該本が小津の所持にかかるものとなったのか不明である。書き入れは第二巻までが朱墨と墨、以降は墨のみを用いている。朱墨で記された注釈には契沖説が含まれ、黒墨の箇所に「蕎按」あるいは「蒿私按云」「蒿云」と注釈が付されている。奥書によれば、宝暦六年版本に契沖の校本を参照して書き入れ、それに伴蒿蹊(1733～1806)が安永元年(1772)に自身の解釈を追入している。また、蒿蹊の参観した本に「御本」「師本」とあるが、この素性は詳らかではない。蕎蹊は武者小路実岳に学んでいるため、「師本」は武者小路実岳所持本の可能性もある。蒿蹊の周辺に数種の『蜻蛉日記』本文が存在していた言語状況を看取できよう。該本の価値は、契沖の古典研究を相対化する蕎蹊の姿勢が伺えることである。特に『蜻蛉日記』の本文研究及び解釈を通じて、後撰集・拾遺集・曽丹集・赤染衛門集・古今六帖・続千載集・『大和物語』・『枕草子』・『源氏物語』・『続日本後紀』を引用している。また、語句解説として、若冲説を付箋を用いて説明する等、全体を通して自説及び契沖・若沖説を総合した『蜻蛉日記』注釈書作成の様相が見て取れた。以上より、該本が伴蒿蹊の注釈書に相当する内容であることは全く知られておらず、日記文学を世に知らしめた国学者達の古典文学研究の内実を解明するために必要な書として日本でも広く紹介されるべきであるとの見解を持つに至った。
