本研究の目的は、旧来の欧米・中国中心史観から脱却した新しい世界史像の構築に向けて、研究蓄積が最も少ない分野の一つである中央ユーラシア史の研究を深化させることにある。具体的には、ジョチ・ウルス内部史料の基礎的研究として、17世紀末にヴォルガ・ウラル地方において著された無名氏の『ダフタリ・チンギズ・ナーマ』の研究を行った。研究方法としては、①先行研究において看過されてきたパリ・ロンドン・エディンバラの3写本の実見調査を行い、本史書の実証的研究を行うための環境を整えた。②他の諸史料との比較検討を通して、本史書の史料的可能性および歴史的知識の伝播状況について考察した。③本史書の記述・構成を検討し、ロシアよる併合後の時代のなかで本史書が保有していたテュルク・モンゴル的な歴史認識について調査した。現時点の研究成果としては以下のことが挙げられよう。①3写本、とくに、エディンバラ写本は質の高い完全写本であり、本写本を実見調査できたことは、今後の本史書の研究に大いに益するところとなった。②他の諸史料との比較検討によって、本史書には他には見られない歴史的知識が多く含まれていることが明らかとなった。③本史書の歴史認識の分析からは、他の諸史料において強く認識されている「チンギス統原理(チンギス・ハンの男系子孫しかハンになれない)」が、あまり重視されていないことが看取される。ヴォルガ・ウラル地方におけるチンギス家(ジョチ・ウルス)の支配が終わり、同地がロシアの支配下に組み込まれていくなかで、「チンギス統原理」が揺らぎ始めていたと考えられる。同時に, テュルク系の人々のアイデンティティはイスラームへと向かっていった。本史書は、こうした時代のうねりを雄弁に物語っているといえよう。この研究を通して得られた新知見を活かしながら、今後もジョチ・ウルス史、ひいては中央ユーラシア史研究の深化に取り組んでいきたい。
