项目摘要

提出したテーマは、対象時期を戦前としたが、現時点までに戦前期の出産と子供観に関する研究が完結していないために、ここでは日本における出産と育児研究において、常に原点となる現代家族における育児の研究について報告させていただくことをお断りさせていただく。現代家族における育児の実態や母親の育児不安を探ることを目的として、1996年10月〜1997年2月に、奈良市保健センターに1歳6か月健診に来た母親を対象にアンケート調査を実施した。調査の主な内容は、(1)育児不安と公園での友達づきあいの関連性、(2)家族形態の違いによる育児ネットワークのあり方、(3)母親のライフコースと育児不安の関連性等である。本報告では既に分析の終えている10月〜11月調査分についての結果を報告する(有効回収票243、有効回収率49%)。結果的に、育児不安は顕在化していなかった。また育児不安と公園での友達づきあいには関連がなく、公園での母親同士のコミュニケーションが育児不安の程度に影響を及ばさないことも明らかになった。しかし、親と離れて住んでいる者ほど、公園友達を相談相手として選ぶ割合が高く、公園が親密な人間関係形成の一つの場所として機能している場合があることがわかった(孤立核家族>近居・隣居>同居)。なお、職業の有無・中断理由・今後のライフコースの希望などと育児不安の間には、統計的な関連性が見られなかった。現代家族の孤立性ばかりが強調される嫌いがあるが、母親達は親族ネットワーク(夫や親、きょうだいなど)と近隣ネットワークをそれぞれに利用しながら育児をしていると言えよう。
