1.色と着装心理について オプティカル自動試着装置を用いて、5種のフォーマルドレスをSD法によりイメージ評価してもらい因子分析した。その結果、上位因子と色の持つイメージがほぼ一致していることがわかり、イメージに及ぼす色の重要性が確認された。また、自動試着装置を用いた評価と写真による評価とでは大きな違いは認められず予想外の結果となった。しかしどのドレスにおいて“豪華さ"の因子が上位に挙げられており、等身大で評価できるという本装置の有効性がわかった。次に、調査により抽出した3つの人気ブランドのスタイル写真をデジタルカメラ等でデジタル化し、コンピュータにより画像処理をおこなって異色の試料を作成し、“どの色が似合うか"について調べた。その結果、似合うと思う色と似合った色とに差異があり、緑については肌の色との関係があることが示唆された。ファッションカラーについて詳細にするため、各シ-ズンの街頭での流行色とメーカーの提案色との関連を調べた。その結果、最近の無彩色の流行が消費者の色のチョイスにも影響を与えていることが分かった。2.デザインコンセプトの伝達について 1の人気ブランドのデザインコンセプトの中からキーワード7つを選び、消費者である20前後の女性がどのようにデザインコンセプトを認識しているのかSD法を用いて分析した。その結果、デザインのシンプル性がやや認識されていた以外は各ブランドともデザインコンセプトがよく伝わっていないことが分かった。このことから衣服を購入する際には流行要素(今年の場合シンプル、リアルクロージング)やフィーリング、ブランドバリュー等の方が重要視されていることが示唆された。一方、各ブランドでの似合うと思う色と似合った色を比較したところ、1つのブランドではいずれもオリジナル色が人気があり、ブランドイメージを形成する上で色が大きなを役割を果たしているものと考えられる。
