项目摘要

1.研究の目的:本研究は在住ブラジル人就労者を対象とし、とりわけ自給拾得でのインプットがすでに進んだ時点で学習を受けはじめた人の日本語習得過程の諸側面を明らかにする目的としている。本年度は、ブラジル人話者が場面によって行うスタイル切り替えを中心に、調査を実施した。2.調査の概要:1995年の5月から12月にかけて、2名のブラジル人話者を追求し、「職場場面」での同僚や上司との会話と、「職場外場面」でのボランティア相手との会話を録音した。いずれも一対一の自然会話であった。こうした談話録音を次の段階に分け、断片的に行った。(1)第一回目:95年5月ボランティア場面でのボランティアAとの会話I(2)第二回目:95年7月職場場面での同僚と上司の会話(1回ずつ)ボランティア場面でのボランティアBとの会話(3)第3回目:95年12月ボランティア場面でのボランティアAとの会話II3.調査の結果:ブラジル人話者は習得の早い段階から「職場内」と「職場外」の、それぞれの異なるスタイルに気づき、自分からも、その二つの領域を境目とし、積極的にスタイルを切り替えるようになることがわかった。こうした切り替えは主に「普通体」と「丁寧体」、または「標準語形式」と「方言形式」の、双方の使用パターンに現れた。フォローアアップインタービューで尋ねたところ、その切り替えのプロセスには話者がそれぞれのスタイルに対する意識が潜んでおり、その意識はボランティア場面からのインプットが多くなるにつれ、変容していくことが明確になった。切り替えはどの段階まで進むかは話者によって異なると考えられるので、各話者の切り替え習得・状況を正確に把握するためには、これからも縦断的な調査の継続が不可欠なものであろう。
