项目摘要

反省とは自らの過去の行動を振り返り、評価しながら、自己の欠点を自発的に見い出し、それによって、自らを向上しようとする行為のことである。さらにこの行為は、特に日本において、他者や社会的なユニットと結び付いた相互協調的自己、関係志向的自己を作り出すための1つの典型的パターンになっている。なぜなら、日本において反省するとは、自らの行為が他者にどのように受け取られ、他者にどのように影響したかを考え、そこに自己向上の余地を見い出そうとすることであるからである。このような反省と呼ばれる行為のパターンは日本における自己の様態を理解する際の中心的概念であると考えられる。しかし、そのような心理学的構造に対する実証的研究はほとんどない。そこで本研究では、日本における反省の形態とその自己観との関係を明らかにし、日本での反省とその特性を明らかにすることを目的とする。今年度は研究2を実施した。研究1において見いだされた反省パターンが、どのような他者、集団で生じるかを明らかにするために、「反省のパターンが生起する条件の同定」を検討した。方法:グループで自己記述を行わせ、それについての自己評価、他者評価、社会的基準評価を得る。結果: グループ状況で被験者は自らの属性を列記し、それぞれの望ましさを評定した。ついで、匿名のまま属性のリストは被験者間で交換された。そして、各被験者は、他者の属性についてもそれぞれの望ましさを評定した。そして、自他の評価をこれらの記述がどのように得られたかを知らない第3者によりなされた評価(社会的基準評価)と比較することにより、自己評価におけるバイアスと他者評価におけるバイアスが生起する条件を検証した。批判的傾向は、否定的属性において、他者高揚的傾向は、肯定的な属性において、それぞれ見い出された。また、被験者が実際に自己記述した属性についての自他評価のバイアスを検討し、自己にとって意味ある状況でも自己批判的傾向が見い出された。
