全国53の教員養成系大学・学部における小学校国語針教育法の受講生を中心に、小・中・高におけるスピーチ体験についてのアンケートを行い、そのアンケート結果の集計により大学生のスピーチ体験の実態を提示し、その結果・考察を発表することが本研究の目的であった。成果については以下の発表を行った。(1) 「教員養成系大学・学部におけるスピーチ・コミュニケーション教育の課題」(第94回全国大学国語教育参会/1998.8.3/筑波大学附属小学校)(2) [音声言語教育についてースピーチ・コミュニケーション教育の実際ー](第1回「国語教育in MORIOKA」/1998.8.12/岩手大学農学部)(3) 「大学におけるスピーチ・コミュニケーション教育に対する学生の意識」(日本国語教育学会岩手支部会1月例会/1999.1.10/松尾村・秀峰荘)スピーチ体験の特徴としては、小・中・高と進むにつれて体験数が少なくなること、規模が教室レベルから学年・学校・地域レベルへと拡大されていくこと、そして内容としては個人的情報中心から専門的社会的情報中心へと変わっていくこと、があげられる。なお、大学におけるスピーチ・コミュニケーション教育のための調査・研究ということもあって、現在行われている小・中・高での実践とは一線を画するものではあるが、小・中・高の実践への提案等を行うことも可能であるし、また本研究の延長としては大学におけるスピーチ・コミュニケーション教育のプログラム開発が考えられる。
