本研究では、子どもの静止視力,動体視力,深視力,眼と手の協調性を測定し、子どもの運動視機能の基礎的データを収集する。特に運動場面における子どもの眼と手の協調性能力に着目し、様々な観点から考察することを目的とする。また、子どもの運動視機能の発達のメカニズムを検討し、子どもの運動能力と運動視機能との関係を考察する。なお、今回は特によい視機能が必要とされる球技としてハンドボール競技選手を対象とした。対象者は、K県内3校の中学校1年生から3年生、ハンドボール選手47名ある。内訳は、男子18名、女子29名であり、1年生11名、2年生18名、3年生18名である。さらにこの対象者を技能レベルによって「選抜群」「正選手群」「補欠群」の3つの群に区別した。眼と手の協調性は、Wyne社製のSaccadic Fixatorを使用して測定した。これは、直径70cmの円周上にタッチ・ライトが並んでおり、ランダムに1個ずつ点灯する。このライトは手で押すと消灯するもので、30秒で消したライトの数で点数化される。各選手群の眼と手の協調性は、選抜群が37.30±4.26、正選手群が38.17±3.14、補欠群が36.83±3.75であった。各選手群で有意な差は認められなかった。各学年間においても、1学年では35.50±4.22、2学年では37.61±2.95、3学年では38.33±4.22であり。有意な差は見られなかった。現段階では、眼と手の協調性においては、各学年間においても各技能レベルにおいても顕著な結果は出ておらず、サンプル数を増やし、さらに分析する必要があると思われる。また、Saccadic Fixatorのライトを消灯するための技術が必要とされ、測定回数等、測定方法に関しても検討する必要がある。今後の課題としては、サンプル数を増やし、子どもの運動経験あるいは生活環境等を細かく分析し、子どもの運動視機能との関係を明らかにしていきたい。
