子どもの静止視力の低下が問題視されている中、「子どものからだ調査」で「視力が低い。」や「とんでくるボールをうまく捕れない。」など、目に関する問題が、教育の現場で実感されている。子どもの運動視機能は、どのような状況なのか。また、どのように発達しているのであろうか。本研究では、子どもの静止視力・動体視力・深視力を測定し、子どもの運動視機能の現状を明らかにする。また、その加齢的推移を明らかにすることで、子どもの運動視機能のメカニズムを検討し、子どもの運動能力と運動視機能との関係を考察することを目的とする。調査対象者は、小学校1年生〜5年生の39名(10.10±1.02歳)で、現在定期的に運動を行っている(スポーツ経験年数:1.82±0.97年)。全体の平均値は、静止視力は1.27、動体視力は0.67、深視力は21.56であった。これらの子どもたちの指導者にそれぞれの子どもについて技術レベルにおいて3段階評価を行ってもらった。その結果、各レベル間で深視力には有意な差はみられなかったが、動体視力において各技術レベル間に有意な差がみられ(p<0.01)、技術レベルが高いと評価される子どもほど動体視力の値も高かった。また、動体視力については、スポーツ経験年数間では有意な差はみられなかったが、年齢別にみると、9歳と10歳の間に有意差があった(p<0.01)。今後の課題としては、定期的に運動を行っていない子どもも含めて調査を行うとともに、瞬間視、視球運動能力や手と眼の協応性など、子どもの運動視機能をいろいろな角度からさらに分析を行いたい。
