1番染色体の短腕の欠失は精巣腫瘍において高頻度にみられる現象である。このことは1番染色体の短腕に癌抑制遺伝子が存在することを示唆している。Bcellリンフォーマにおいて同部に存在する、BCL10遺伝子の変化が認められている。また、その後の報告よりこの遺伝子は、他の多くの腫瘍において変異を起こしていることがわかってきた。BCL10は1p22に存在し、この部位をターゲットとして、我々は51症例(seminoma29症例、NSGCT22症例)の精巣腫瘍に対してDIS207,DIS208,DIS435のマイクロサテライトマーカーを用いてLOH studyを施行した。この結果、51症例中21症例(41%)にヘテロ接合性の欠失を認めた。seminomaとNSGCTとの間にヘテロ接合性欠失の割合に有意の差は認められなかった。BCL10領域に対しSSCP,sequence analysisを行った。結果、codon5,8,162に塩基配列の変化を認めたが、これは正常組織でも認められ、mutationではなく、polymorphismであると考えられた。よって今回のstudyでは精巣腫瘍におけるはBCL10のsomaticmutationは証明できなかった。
