本研究では、1920年代に発刊された家政学関係雑誌を中心に、その検討を通して近代日本の家政学と家政教育の形成における特性をその死角や限界も含めて考察することを目的とする。その際、家政学関係雑誌にみられる「家庭管理」という分野に特に注目する。このため、本年度は、奈良女子高等師範学校家事研究会による『家事研究』(1920年創刊)など、大正中期の家政教育再編期に発刊された家政学関係雑誌を検討する。そして、家政教育方法論や女子教育論などの研究論文、家事科授業の実践報告や家事科教材の研究報告、欧米家政学情報の紹介記事などを手がかりに、欧米の理論をもとに実践された日本の家政教育の実態を明らかにしようと考えた。現段階では、『家事研究』を中心資料として、欧米の家政学情報の受容のされ方を調査・分析する計画のうち、資料調査および資料収集に着手したところで、分析・検討する作業にはまだ着手できていない。今後の課題である。また、『家事研究』の分析・検討と共に、近代日本の家政学・家政教育の事情を別な側面から解明する作業も必要である。家政教育の発展に多大な影響を及ぼした大江スミが、女高師退職後に創設した家政学院で、スミの教え子であり、かつ、家政学院の教員も務めた吉永フミ氏など、現在生存している関係者からの聞きとり調査を行なって、文献資料からはうかがうことのできない当時の家政学・家政教育の実情を明らかにしなくてはならないと考えている。これも今後の課題である。
