法と宗教との関係についての類型論を試み、その試論的な研究を2つの学会(日本宗教学会と日本キリスト教学会)の学術大会で報告し、研究者たちとの意見交換を行った。法と宗教との関係については、いわゆる「世俗化」と「多元化」という言われる社会変動を経た後、2つの類型に分類される。ひとつは「本質-実存-構造」と本研究が呼ぶものであり、これを「タイプA」と呼ぶことにした。もうひとつは宗教的な確信が実定法になるという歴史的な事実(たとえば人権の概念とか国家と宗教との分離の原則など)から確認されるもので、これを「タイプB」と呼ぶことにした。「タイプA」の類型は、今日の「多元化」の時代には、普遍的な類型とは呼ぶことができず、「タイプB」は歴史的にはヨーロッパ・キリスト教的なものにその起源を持つという意味では特殊な形態であるが、その後その枠を越えて、それらが普遍化するというプロセスを経ているが故に(たとえば人権の概念の普遍化や宗教と国家との関係の規定の普遍化など)、今日の「法宗教学」の典型的な課題のひとつであると考えられる。この2年の研究成果を日本の主要学会では報告したので、より広い検討に附すために、ドイツの研究誌に原稿を送付した。なお学会での研究発表は以下の通りである。(1)「法の神学的基礎付けについて-自無法と法実証主義との間の法の神学」(第48回日本キリスト教学会学術大会於:青山学院大学)(2)「法の神学的基礎付けと法の普遍妥当性の問題」(第42回日本宗教学会学術大会での報告,2001年9月15日久留米大学)(3)「二つの法の神学」(日本基督教学会第49回学術大会西南学院大学,2001年10月27日)
