1.雇用労働力の実体農業雇用労働力は総じて高齢化しているが、雇用者側の属性(農家、農協、農業法人)の相違により年齢構成に相違が見られ、農家よりも農協・農業法人の非雇用者年齢は低い傾向にある。この点に関しては、各種保険制度への加入、雇用期間、賃金水準、賃金算定方式等の労働条件面で、農協・農業法人が農家よりも優れていることに起因すると考えられる。また、性別には女性が圧倒的に多いが、雇用労働力に依存する作業の多くが、通常栽培管理作業(ホルモン処理、摘心、摘葉等)、収穫調整作業、出荷作業(選別・包装・箱詰め・梱包等)といった手作業であることに起因し、男性は機械作業、ビニル張り、運搬等の技能・危険・重労働を伴う作業に短期・集中的に導入される傾向にある。なお、地域別にみて非雇用者の属性に大きな相違はない。2.農家の労働需要と労働削減技術導入現在、農家の労働力不足・高齢化に対応し、各種省力化技術が導入されている。本研究では、施設ナス生産を対象とし、花粉媒介昆虫を利用した環境保全型栽培技術の導入、集出荷場統合を契機とした自動機械導入による選別作業の外部化を雇用労働力問題の側面から検討した。農産物価格低迷の中で、花粉媒介昆虫利用栽培技術、自動選別機械導入による選別作業の外部化双方ともに、農家は労働の外部依存度低減の方向にあった。また、集出荷場の統合と作業の自動機械化は、作業員の不足・高齢化対策としては効果的であるが、機械稼働速度にあわせた労働を作業員に強いる等の問題も抱える。
