本研究がめざした両大戦間における小池新二の役割に関して、次の知見を獲得した。(1)1920年代以降、わが国における世界の建築・テザインに関わる事情収集や情報収集は決して順風満帆に進んでいたわけではないが、該当分野に関する新進気鋭の評論家・美学者・研究者とも言えた小池新二による独自の方法論による世界事情・情報収集は功を奏しており、莫大な情報を定期的に収集することに成功していたことが明らかになった。(2)ドイツ・バウハウスやオランダ・ディスティールといった世界に喧伝されたテザイン・建築の運動体は重要な情報発信源でもあったが、陶磁、洋行・渡航をすることは容易ではなかったため、定期刊行雑誌・専門書籍・特集グラフ(写真誌)などの効果が雑大であった。小池新二はこうした情報源に注目しており、個人の情報収集家としてはきわめて広範囲かつ莫大な情報量を獲得していたと言える。(3)とりわけ、未だ情報収集が十分ではなかった北欧のデザインや建築事情に関する情報を、ドイツにおいて発行されていた専門誌・定期刊行誌を通して知悉することとなり、フィンランドのアルヴァ・アアルトの業績や影響力をドイツ語翻訳の作業を媒介にしながら、初めてわが国に紹介したことが明らかになった。(4)北欧三カ国(フィンランド・スエーデン・デンマーク)およびドイツにおける現地調査を通して、1920年代〜30年代におけるデザイン事情と千葉大学附属図書館小池新二文庫所蔵の関係文献の収集状況を分析することにより、同時代における北欧生活審美観とデザイナー・建築家における啓蒙活動が、ドイツで発行された建築関係専門誌やデザイン関係専門誌などを通してわが国に喧伝されていった経緯を知る端緒を把握することができた。

This study was conducted to obtain the knowledge of the relationship between the two groups.
