项目摘要

本年度は17年度からの研究計画の最終年として、これまでの研究をまとめるものである。17年度に死生学教育の文献収集、実践の行われている欧米の死生学教育のプログラム分析からそのフレームワークを分析し、18年度にはそれを元にモデルとなる死生学プログラムを作り実践した。本年度はそのプログラムの効果測定を目的とし、プログラム実施前後で、受講者の死に対する態度がどのように変化したかを、死生観尺と、記述式死のイメージ調査を用いてテストした。死生観尺度は、各因子の信頼性妥当性を検証し、死に対する態度のどの項目が変化しているかを明らかにした。死に対する直接的な感情が大きく変化するというよりは、死に対する態度が否定的受容から肯定的受容に変化していることが明らかとなった。また、記述式(文章による)死のイメージについては、テキストマイニングで分析を行ったところ、死に対するイメージは、終わりで悲しいものというものはあるものの、新しい出発や永遠や先に逝った人との再会など、受講前に見られなかった構成要素が増えた。これは死生観において、死を肯定的に受容する、あるいは、死について向き合う死生の表れともいえる。死生学教育は、医療の現場のみに必要なものではなく、「生きる人」に関わる(社会福祉を含む)全ての専門領域において必要であり、生きる人としての自分自身を考えるとき意味を持つものといえる。プログラム改良について情報収集するため、アメリカ(ハワイ大学・ワシントン大学)において死生学教育が実践に用いられているプログラムやセンターを訪ね情報収集を行った。詳しくは、社会福祉系もしくは死生学系の学会で発表する予定である。
