6つの質問から構成される予防的家族看護介入の効果を明らかにするために、介入ガイドに基づいて入院中に2回看護介入をした7事例(介入群>、その比較対照として意図的な介入を行わなかった5事例(非介入群)を対象に、質問紙調査した。調査は、子ども世代の主介護者には健康関連QOL・介護負担・家族機能、孫世代には家族機能にっいて、退院数週間前、退院直前、自宅退院後のそれぞれ3回実施した。高齢脳血管疾患女性の背景を比較すると、平均年齢は介入群88.0歳、非介入群71.6歳であった。主介護者の続柄は、介入群では娘4と息子の配偶者3、非介入群では娘2と息子の配偶者3であった。平均要介護度は介入群2.3、非介入群2.4であった。健康関連QOLは、sf-36を使用し国民標準値との偏差得点で解釈すると、両群ともに日常役割機能(身体)、と社会生活機能、日常生活機能(精神)が低く、非介入群では特に日常役割機能(身体)、と社会生活機能において退院直前、退院後に45以下の低い値を示した。Zarit介護負担度(日本語版)では、両群の傾向の違いは見られなかった。家族機能は家族アプガーのVASスケールを使用し、子ども世代と孫世代それぞれをの両群比較した。第1回目調査(介入前)の時点で、両世代ともに介入群の方が5つの要素すべてで高い値を示しており、比較による効果判定は不可能であった。限られた事例数だが、主介護者の健康維持に入院中から予防的家族看護介入を行う効果が示唆された。
