项目摘要

最近の脳機能の研究法の進歩は著しく、とりわけ脳画像の一般化はめざましい。しかしながら、実際以上に脳画像情報の信頼性や妥当性を過信する傾向がうかがわれ、科学的視点に依拠した新しい倫理の構築が求められている。今年度は、昨年度に東北大学で行ったワークショップでの話題の一つを更に深化させる取組を行った。それは、今後わが国に導入が予定されている裁判員制度における係争時の脳画像情報の取り扱いに関する話題である。(1)画像がもたらす表面情報価の優位性は、正確でない評価をもたらすことが予想され大きな社会問題となる可能性を秘めていること、(2)評価者にどの様な様式で、どの程度の画像情報測定メカニズムを提供することが正確な評価につながるのかが不明であること、(3)犯罪の特性などの要素を加味した実験的検討がこれまでに決定的に欠けていること、などを研究分担者は確認し、このような問題意識を深化させることとし、新たなメンバー補強を加えてこの問題意識を基礎にして20年度の科学研究費申請を行った。また、今年度末には脳科学倫理についての最新の研究情報を共有する目的で名古屋大学に於いて研究セミナーを開催した。大谷大学の神崎宣次氏の講演をもとに討論を行った。ニューロエシックスの構成要素として(1)倫理の脳科学への貢献、(2)脳科学の倫理(研究倫理、利用の倫理)、(3)脳科学の社会的影響の実証的研究があることや、わが国の倫理学者がかつての生命倫理学の議論からどのような背景で関心を示す割合が低いかなどについて紹介があり、参加者からの活発な議論が行われ、今後どのような議論が必要かの論点整理が行われた。
