表紙裏反古を国文学研究資料として活用する方法の開発を目指す研究

项目摘要

近世初期の出版物は表紙の補強材として、いわゆる表紙裏反古を用いることがある。これはその種の反古を取り出し研究資料として活用するための諸問題を検討する研究であるが、第2年次に当たる本年度は次の如くの研究活動を予定した。1)前年度の補いとしての表紙裏反古に関する研究資料の収集2)前年度の補いとしての表紙裏反古の所在に関する情報の収集3)表紙裏反古の実地調査4)シンポジューム形成による研究集会の開催5)ワークショップの取りまとめを中心にした研究成果報告書の公刊このうちの(4)シンポジュームは前年度開催したワークショップの成果を検証する内容を予定していたが、諸般の事情で実現の困難が予想されたところから、新たなワークショップの開催に変更し実施した。前年度にアドバイザーとして招聘した参加者に加えて今年度は若手研究者に参加を呼びかけ、既成の常識にとらわれることのない新鮮な角度からの検証とこの種の作業への関心の惹起とを期待した。そしてこの若手主体のワークショップを2回にわたって開催することができた。前年度はワークショップの副産物として、いまだその全貌をつまびらかにしない古活字宗存版の反古多数を表紙裏から抽出したが、本年度もまた古活字版『大坂物語』下巻の第一次版の反古複数葉を得ることができた。これは成簣堂文庫収蔵本が知られる限りでの唯一という稀覯本であって、宗存版にも劣らぬ副産物とすることができよう。また表紙裏反古の実地調査で出合った内閣文庫所蔵嵯峨本『史記』は表紙裏反古の保存と公開との兼ね合いを慮った補修が施された注目に値する資料であった。それらに関して全164ページの研究成果報告書を公刊して詳述した
