本年度は、まず、昨年度実施した実験データをSPMという解析ソフトを用いて分析した。その結果、McClure, et al.(2004)"Separate Neural Systems Value Immediate and Delayed Monetary Rewards," Science306, 503-507の結果を確認することはできなかった。時間割引に関連するニューロエコノミクスの研究としては、McClureらが水に関する時間割引が同じような脳賦活領域を持つことを発表する一方で、Glimcher, et al.(2007)" Neuroeconomic Studies of Impulsivity: Now or Just as Soon as Possible?" American Economic Review, Vol.97 No.2およびKable and Glimcher(2007)"The neural correlates of subjectivevalue during intertemporal choice" Nature Neuroscience 10, 1625-1630が出版され、必ずしもMcClureらを追認しない結果を報告している。われわれは、先に実施した予備実験によって、時点の遅さより2つのオプション間の時間差の方が選択に強く影響するという結果を確認しており、Glimcherらの結果をこのような方向で解釈する。また、先の実験ではrapidという方法で撮像した点がMcClureらと大きく違っているので、本年度は、これらの点を考慮して実験を組み立て、fMRI撮像を実施した。予備実験の結果をディスカッションペーパーにまとめJournal of Risk and Uncertaintyに投稿し、現在改訂要求を受けている。
