Information Behavior of Residents in Local Community --On The Cases of Minakuchi, Shiga pref. and Ikoma, Nara pref. --

本研究是一项实地调查，主要是为了了解人们在日常生活中的信息或交流行为的某些方面，如在他们的家中和当地社区。选择了滋贺县的Minakuchi和奈良县的Ikoma作为调查对象，研究人员向居民中选择的研究对象发送并收集了专门设计的问卷。这两个地区和居民的特点形成了鲜明的对比。前者是一个传统城镇，包括古老的农业村庄，人口增长率相对温和。另一方面，后者在很大程度上表现出一种典型的特征，即围绕着大城市新开发的所谓“居室城镇”，其人口流入量非常大。这些社会学因素的差异似乎也给了两个社区人们的信息行为一些明显的差异。例如，与生驹相比，南口居民倾向于使用更多的人际交流渠道，即使他们观看有线电视的节目，他们也倾向于喜欢更多的社区和面向人民的内容。然而，生驹的居民倾向于观看更多的信息和工具类型的节目比南口的居民。我们可以将这些倾向总结为两个当地社区居民的信息或交流行为的总体模式的差异。

This study is a field survey mainly planed to make clear some aspects of peoples' information or communication behaviors in their daily lives such as those at their homes and local communities. Minakuchi, Shiga pref. and Ikoma, Nara pref. was selected as the fields of survey and the researchers delivered and gathered specially designed questionnaire to and from subjects of the study selected among residents. The characteristics of those two area and residents are in a sharp contrast. The former is a traditional town including old agricultural villages and the rate of population growth is comparatively mild. On the other hand, the latter is largely showing a typical feature as newly developed so-called bed-room towns surrounding larger city and its inflow of population is very large in the number. These differences seen in such sociological factors seem to give also some clear cut differences in peoples' information behaviors in tow communities. For example, residents in Minakuchi tend to use more inter-personal communication channel than residents in Ikoma and they also tend to like more community-and-its-people-oriented contents even if they watch programs featured in cable television. However, residents in Ikoma tend to watch more informative and instrumental type of programs than the residents in Minakuchi. We may be able to sum up these tendencies as differences in an aggregate pattern of information or communication behaviors of residents in two local communities.
