本研究は1987〜1990年に行われた日・米2ケ国の多部門計量モデルの開発と両国間の貿易フロ-による両モデルのリンクによる各種の分析的研究の成果にもとづき、さらに拡大した先進国諸国と東アジア諸国などを対象とする36ケ国・地域の多部門世界モデルの構築と分析を目的としている。このためこれまで最も隘路とされてきた商品グル-プ別の貿易マトリックベ-タの時系列のデ-タ開発をまず行い、つぎにこれらを基礎とする部門別輸入関数を主要国について推定した。一方上記の主要諸国のマクロ経済については、旧筑波大・FAIS世界モデルを基礎に今回全面的改訂を行い、この結果得られる36ケ国・地域のマクロ計量モデルを上記の貿易デ-タによる4部門の輸入関数を通じて結合し、一体的モデルとして完成した。ただしこの場合、先進国7ケ国(G7)についてはそのマクロモデルの工業生産をさらに多部門化し(21部門)、一方上記の輸入関数についても類似の多部門化を行い、生産と輸入に関する多部門分析上の斉合性を図ることとした。上記36ケ国・地域(正確には29ケ国と7つの大陸別のその他地域)のマクロ計量モデルについては、先進国9ケ国(豪州とNZを含む)は生産能力と貨幣供給の二つの制約下での需給均衝型マクロモデルで、一方20ケ国の非先進国モデルは、生産関数による供給制約型ではあるが伸縮的需給調整を含むマクロモデルとなっている。これら諸国の主要パラメ-タ-については、共通のスペシフィケ-ションで推定されているため、生産、消費、投資、賃金、価格行動などについて興味ある比較計量分析が行われた。また、政策シミュレ-ションについては、通常の財政、金融政策のほか、エネルギ-価格、為替レ-ト調整、関税率、自主規制など多部門モデル個有の産業構造上の分析が行われ、興味ある政策的インプリケ-ションが得られている。
