1、研究計画の遂行状況(1)公文類聚・陸軍成規類聚などにより、旧陸海軍の少年兵に関する基本法令を調査・収集した。(2)海軍飛行予科練習生・陸軍少年飛行兵・陸軍少年戦車兵など各種少年兵受験案内・参考書の刊行状況を調査した。(3)『子供の科学』『航空少年』『飛行少年』『週刊少国民』『若桜』『海軍』など少年兵募集に大きな影響力を与えた少年向け雑誌の刊行状況と記事内容について調査した。(4)各種少年兵関係団体の編纂にかかわる回想録・学校文書・学校史などにより、少年兵の強制的な割り当て募集・遂行の過程を調査研究した。2、研究実績の概要(1)少年兵の募集・採用に際して行われた学校への割り当て募集に注目することで、軍国主義教育というイデオロギー批判を脱し、軍と学校とのかかわりの具体的諸相、少年たちの「熱誠」を解明した。(2)学校と教師を介した強制割り当ての一方で、多くの少年が親の反対を振り切って志願した。各種少年兵の大量募集・採用が具体化する1941・42年を境として、少年向け各種雑誌の少年兵なかんずく少年飛行兵関係記事が一挙に増大した。また、少年兵案内・受験参考書・問題集の刊行も膨大な数にのぼった。当時の少年は少年飛行兵と航空機の情報に取り囲まれていた。児童・生徒が親の反対を振り切って志願したという「熱誠」を形成した各種メディアの機能と実態を解明した。
