项目摘要

ダウン症児の就学先として普通学級、特殊学級、養護学校、3種の学校が考えられる。どの学校において学ぶことがダウン症児の「読み・書き・算」の能力を伸ばすことになるのだろうか。本研究の目的は、この3種の学校に通学している同年齢の児童にプリントを学習させることにより、どの学校へ通学することがダウン症児の能力をより多く伸ばすことになるのかをできるだけ客観的にみることである。昨年度に引き続き、本年度も研究計画に基づき次のことを行った。(1)小学校3年児童のA子(普通学級・東京)B子(普通学級・岐阜)C子(養護学校・大阪)D男(特殊学級・岐阜)E男(特殊学級・岐阜)を事例対象の児童として取り上げた。いずれも我々が開発した早期教育プログラムで指導を受けた子どもである。親の研究協力体制も十分であった。(2)D男とE男は、今年度当初から平仮名と数の表記については習得できていなかった。1年間の指導においてもその能力を高めることはできなかった。しかしE男は、平仮名と数字のみの絵本を一人で文字を追いながら音読することが出来るようになった。D男の方は学習体制がとれない状態のまま1年が経過した。(3)A子は、今年度の後半に学習態度が飛躍的に向上した。一定時間にこなすプリントの量が2倍くらいになっている。3年生に進級して担任が変わり、クラス内で認められることが多くなってきたことも影響している。B子は昨年度同様、健常児に遅れを取りながらも簡単な漢字の表記までできるようになった。日記も平仮名を使って書けるようになってきた。C子は、母親の多大な協力により平仮名と20までの数字表記ができるようになった。2年間の成果をまとめると、普通学級進学児童が学習能力の伸びが著しかったといえる。ただ、高学年まで継続研究しなければダウン症児にとって最適な学校種を決定できないことがより明確になった。ぜひ継続的に5人の子どもの事例研究を行いたい。
