13歳〜18歳の日本(静岡県)の男女各300名計600名、およびアメリカ(Los Angeles)の男子97名、女子155名計252名を調査対象として調査を実施した。調査内容は、衣生活行動に関する20項目の4段階尺度による質問紙調査ならびに申請者が考案したオリジナルな方法である着衣基体のガイドラインを示して服装の構想を表現する調査、自由記述5項目および基本属性で、アンケート形式により留置法で実施し、総計852名の回答を得ることができた。次に、得られた回答の服装の構想表現をデータ化するために、服種・シルエット・色柄・組み合せなどから分類し33項目の解析項目をあげ、それぞれにカテゴリーを設定して852名の個票を作成し、衣生活行動の質問項目とともにパソコンに入力した。一方、日常着の構想を描いた原画は、イメージスキャナを用いて今回購入したパソコン(Apple Mc.Centris650)に入力し、データの登録を終えた。現在、それらの基本的統計処理が終了した段階であるが、ハイテイーンよりもローテイーンの男子の衣生活行動に日米の差が顕著にみられ、日本の男子は統計的に有意に下回るなどの知見が得られたので、平成6年度日本家政学会総会(平成6年5月22日東京)において「静岡県のティーンエイジャーの服装の構想表現と衣生活意識‘Los Angelesのテイーンエイジャーとの比較を含む一考察」の題目で、研究発表をする予定である。なお、Los Angelesのティーンエイジャーに関しては、現在も継続して調査中であり、さらに資料が増す予定なのでそれらを加えてクロス集計など詳細な解析を進める。
