情報の流通について、ゲーム理論による分析を行い、以下の成果を得た。1. 情報の流通システムの動的安定性を考慮した新たな解概念の理論的性質の考察:(1)これまで協力ゲームの解として考えられてきたvon NeumannとMorgensternによる安定な行動基準を、非協力ゲームの解として定義しなおし、これが、同じ状況が繰り返されるときの、定常的な状態におけるシステムの安定性を特徴付ける解概念として、妥当なものであることを、ナッシュ均衡などゲーム理論における他の均衡概念との比較を通して、理論的に確認した。(2)上記の安定集合に基づく解を用いて、特許法、著作権法など情報に対する法的保護が存在する状況、存在しない状況、のそれぞれについて、情報流通システムの動的安定性を詳しく考察し、情報がどの程度拡散していくかを明らかにした。2. 寡占市場における新技術の拡散の分析:(1)生産費用を削減するような新技術が、寡占企業間でどのように売買され、拡散していくかを、従来の非協力ゲームとナッシュ均衡による分析、及び上記の安定集合に基づく新たな解による分析、の2通りの方法で分析し、新技術をライセンスする際の企業間の交渉様式の違いが、新技術の拡散に大きな影響を与えることを明らかにした。(2)特に、複占市場において、新技術のライセンス方式(一括支払い方式、生産量1単位あたり支払い方式など)の違いが、その拡散に及ぼす影響を考察した。
