The aim of this study was focused on the development of new treatments for intractable otitis media with effusion (OME) in children and adolescents which cause most of the middle ear inflammatory diseases in adults.Low-dose long-term macrolide administration was found to be effective in the treatment of intractable otitis media with effusion (OME) accompanying nasal sinusitis.For cholesterol granuloma, a combination of peroral steroid (0.5-1.0 mg/kg per day of prednisolone tapering for 10-14 days) and transtympanic ventilation tube insertion resulted in a good outcome.For intractable OME accompanying a eustachian tube with excessive patency, injection of athero collagen into submucosal space of the eustachian tube guided by an endoscope was found to be effective.

本研究的目的是开发儿童和青少年难治性渗出性中耳炎（OME）的新治疗方法。儿童和青少年的难治性渗出性中耳炎（OME）是成人中耳炎的主要原因。低剂量长期大环内酯类药物给药被发现对治疗伴有鼻窦炎的难治性渗出性中耳炎（OME）有效。对于胆固醇肉芽肿，口服类固醇的组合（泼尼松龙0.5-1.0 mg/kg/天，逐渐减量，持续10-14天）和经鼓膜通气管插入导致良好的结果。发现在内窥镜引导下将动脉粥样硬化胶原注射到咽鼓管的粘膜下空间中是有效的。
