Goal of the project is the critical printed edition of the volumes I 15 (1484–1488) and I 16 (1489–1494) of the “Liv-, Est- und Kurländisches Urkundenbuch”, together containing approximately 1700 numbers. By this, the gap between 1472 and 1494, which has existed for more than 100 years, will be closed. In addition, searchable PDF-files with digital images and full texts as well as research data in XML-TEI format will be generated of all volumes, both new and old. These will be presented within the web portals at the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek Munich. Thus, the project ties up to the 19th century status of the “Urkundenbuch” as one of the most ambitious edition projects of medieval regional records and brings it to a close.
