The goal of this project is to develop the Matteson Homologation as a general tool for the stereoselective synthesis of natural products. The existing tool box should be expanded by using functionalized building blocks, giving access to a range of different classes of natural products (amino acids, peptides, polyketides, macrolides, …). The new developed protocols will directly be applied in total syntheses to evaluate and demonstrate their scope and limitations.
