基本信息

项目摘要

The book "Guide to the identification of marine meiofauna" is a guide to identify animals from the marine meiofauna. Animals in a size range between 100 micrometers and about 1 mm typically inhabit the system of water-saturated crevices between sand grains in marine sediments. A comprehensive key leads with simple and well illustrated characters to higher animal taxa, which are presented in 34 chapters on more than 600 pages. The chapters include those 34 animal taxa, which occur in the meiofauna. All chapters are written by specialists. After a short characterization of the taxon, its geographical distribution, its occurrence in a particular sediment type, the preferred extraction technique and the characters important for determination follows an identification key and the main literature for further information on the taxon.
