项目摘要

(1)The main purpose of the present researh project is to analyze the colonial bureaucrats system under the british rule in India. We aim especially at tracing the process of colonial administrative changes by recruiting Indian bureaucrats instead of British of caucasian elites.(2)For this purpose, the researcher extracts the data of individual bureaucrats from the INDIAN CIVIL LISTS of 1925 which was one of the annually published official Gazettes since the end of 18th century in Indea. The data are composed of such matrix as Name, Educational Background, Positions and Transfer of Duty and Places, and other extra factors of each bureaucrat.(3)The researcher collected 488 bureaucrats in 1925 and sorted the informations according to the alphabetical order and compiled the research publication of The Indian Civil Service-Data Base of Indian Civil Service Members, 1925, vol.2, no.1, March 1994(Research Report of Grant-in-Aid, University of Nagoya, 1994).(4)The research is expected to be continued by several foreign universities and libraries such as University of Texas and the Cambridge University Library.

（1）本研究的主要目的是分析英国统治下的印度殖民官僚制度。我们的目标是通过招募印度官僚而不是英国或高加索精英来追踪殖民地行政变革的过程。（2）为此目的，研究者从印度世纪末以来每年出版的官方公报之一《1925年印度公民名单》中提取了个别官僚的数据。数据由姓名、学历、职务、职务调动和其他附加因素组成。（3）研究者收集了1925年488名官员的资料，按字母顺序整理，并编制了研究出版物《印度公务员制度-印度公务员制度成员数据库》，1925年，第2卷，第1期，1994年3月（名古屋大学，1994年补助金研究报告）。（4）美国得克萨斯大学、剑桥大学图书馆等国外大学和图书馆将继续开展此项研究。
