A STUDY ON THE MODERN SOUTH ASIAN BUREAUCRATIC SYSTEM -"INDIANIZATION OF BUREAUCRATS" AND POLICY CHANGES-

(1)本研究项目的主要目的是分析英国统治下印度的殖民官僚制度。我们的目标是通过招募印度官僚而不是英国或高加索精英来追踪殖民行政变革的过程。(2)为此，研究者从印度自18世纪末以来每年出版的官方公报之一《1925年印度民事名单》中提取了个别官僚的数据。该数据由每位官员的姓名、教育背景、职务和职务调动等矩阵以及其他额外因素组成。(3)研究者于1925年收集了488名官僚，并将资料按字母顺序进行整理，编撰了研究刊物《印度公务员数据库》，1925年第2卷第2期。1994年3月1日（名古屋大学资助研究报告，1994年）。(4)得克萨斯大学和剑桥大学图书馆等几所国外大学和图书馆预计将继续进行这项研究。

(1)The main purpose of the present researh project is to analyze the colonial bureaucrats system under the british rule in India. We aim especially at tracing the process of colonial administrative changes by recruiting Indian bureaucrats instead of British of caucasian elites.(2)For this purpose, the researcher extracts the data of individual bureaucrats from the INDIAN CIVIL LISTS of 1925 which was one of the annually published official Gazettes since the end of 18th century in Indea. The data are composed of such matrix as Name, Educational Background, Positions and Transfer of Duty and Places, and other extra factors of each bureaucrat.(3)The researcher collected 488 bureaucrats in 1925 and sorted the informations according to the alphabetical order and compiled the research publication of The Indian Civil Service-Data Base of Indian Civil Service Members, 1925, vol.2, no.1, March 1994(Research Report of Grant-in-Aid, University of Nagoya, 1994).(4)The research is expected to be continued by several foreign universities and libraries such as University of Texas and the Cambridge University Library.
