本研究課題における研究目的は、各大学における研究者と研究交流を深めつつ、多様体上の諸種の解析を通してその性質を調べることである。仲田は、不連続群のポアンカレ級数の収束指数を考察し、収束型の不連続群の収束指数の性質を導きだした。佐藤はコンパクトアーベル群上のフーリエマルチプライヤークラスにおけるバナッハ代数としてのスペクトル及び作用関数の研究を行い、その成果を論文として発表している。諸澤は、有理関数の力学系のジュリア集合とクライン群の極限集合の類似性に着目し、クライン群の剰余極限集合に対応する剰余ジュリア集合について結果を示した。佐藤と諸澤は、その成果を春の日本数学会で口頭発表の予定である。阿部は、半単純リー代数やKac-Moodyリー代数を一般化した無限次元リー代数に対応する無限次元代数群の構成について考察し、成果を得て論文として発表している。また渡辺は、複素半単純リー群の極大ベキ単部分群による商空間上の微分作用子環の研究を行い、中里はリー代数の包絡代数の対称表現の積分可能性について研究を深めた。渡辺と中里はその成果をそれぞれ表現論、関数解析学のシンポジウムで口頭発表している。内田により構成された非コンパクトリー群の球面へのtwisted linear actionについて、内田と大池はさらに研究を深めている。佐伯は、簡単な特異点しか持たない安定写像の大域的挙動、多様体の微分構造そして連続写像の分離性質について、とくに低次元多様体を中心に研究を行い多くの成果を口頭発表し、印刷発表している。岡安は、同時にdilationを持つcontractionの族の和が再び同時にdilationを持つためのひとつのC^*代数的な十分条件を与え、その成果を論文として発表している。
