1 Collection of adults and larvae of the Pamphiliid sawflies was made mainly in Hokkaido in June and July, 1992 to 1994, to enrich the previously accumulated material. As a result of comparative morphological studies, 13 characters in the venation, mandible, shape of the ovipositor, etc., have been found useful for analyzing phylogeny at the generic level. Using MacClade (Maddison & Maddison, 1992) and PAUP (Swofford, 1993), phylogenetic relationships among the nine Pamphiliid genera were analyzed and a hypothesis of the relationships was presented based on parsimony criterion. According to this hypothesis, the subfamily Pamphiliinae and its two component tribes, the Neurotomini and Pamphiliini, are monophyletic, whereas the other subfamily Cephalciinae and one of its component tribes, the Cephalciini, are non-monophyletic.2 Part of new findings during the course of the studies heve been published in ten separate papers. They include a revision of Korean species of the genera Neurotoma (five species) and Onycholyda (six species including one new) [reference 6], a revision of Pamphilius sulphureipes group (four East Asian species including two new subspecies) [reference 8], a revision of Pamphilius histrio group, including cladistic analysis (eleven Holarctic species including one new species and one new subspecies) [reference 10], a revision of the Xyelid genus Megaxyela of East Asia (three species including two new) [reference 3], descriptions of one new species each of the genera Cephalcia and Neurotoma from Japan [reference 5,9], reports on new hosts and larval nesting habits [reference 1,7]and new distribution records[reference 2,4].
利用MacClade(Maddison & Maddison,1992)和PAUP(Swofford,1993)软件对九个Pamphiliid属的系统发育关系进行了分析,并基于简约性准则提出了一个系统发育关系假说。
