The wind loads on and the wind-induced dynamic behavior latticed spherical domes with long-spans have been studied. First, data from a number of experimants concerned with the wind loads on spherical domes were reviewed. Particular attention was paid to the effects of the rise/span and wall-height/span ratios on the surface pressures. Then, the free vibrations were numerically analyzed for several domes with spans ranging from 80 to 200 m. The modal forces of the first six modes of each model were measured in a wind tunnel. In the measurements, a pneumatic averaging technique was applied to obtain the modal force directly in the wind tunnel experiments. The mean and root-mean-square values and the power spectrum of each modal force were presented. On the basis of the results, the charaacteristics of the wind-induced dynamic response of the dome were discussed. Furthermore, the time-space correlation of the pressure fluctuations was discussed, based on the results of simultaneous pressure measurements at many locations on the dome.
