人間ドック受診者900名の血圧とIRI値の関連性を検討した。その結果、高値正常血圧群以上でIRI値の上昇、特に120分値の有意な上昇が認められた。また、年齢、肥満度、飲酒などの高血圧関連要因を考慮した時にも各時点でのIRIと血圧値、特に拡張期血圧との関連性が認められ、インスリン面積や各時点でのIRI値の合計などをインスリン分泌の指標とした場合も同様であった。この結果を受け、24時間蓄尿によるC-ペプタイドをインスリンの指標に加え、血圧とインスリンの関連を交絡因子を含めて詳細に検討するために、男性の人間ドック受診者を対象に蓄尿を行い、C-ペプタイドおよび内因性クレアチニンクリアランス、NaCl一日排泄量の測定を行った。同時に、75g糖負荷テストを実施し経時的な血糖およびIRIの測定と同時にドック受診時の座位血圧を測定し、年齢、肥満度(BMI)、gamma-GTP、総コレステロール、尿酸、HDLコレステロールなどの高血圧関連因子に関してもデータを収集した。さらに、高血圧、糖尿病、膵疾患などの既往の有無、飲酒や喫煙などの生活習慣について調査した。現在までに300人のデーターを集積し、蓄尿者について24時間尿中C-ペプタイドと血圧値の関連性について検討している。その際、血圧との関連因子として年齢、飲酒、肥満度だけでなく、NaCl一日排泄量、総コレステロール、尿酸、HDLコレステロール、gamma-GTPなどの交絡因子の考慮も行っている。
