项目摘要

中国初期禅宗の形成は、インド伝来の禅思想が単に中国仏教徒によって受容されたのではなく、先行する中国仏教思想の成熟をうけて、それを深化発展させたものである。その、禅宗形成の大きな動機のひとつとなったのが天台宗の思想と実践の体系である。本研究では、従来着目されることのなかった南岳慧思を、そうした視点からとらえ返し、その現存する著作を、偽接とされるものも全て含めて電子テキスト化し、そのコーパスを数量的に解折し、著者問題・思想特性などの研究を行なった。また、これまでに蓄えた禅宗のテキストデータを利用し、禅宗との比較研究を行なった。今回構築したコーパスは、南岳慧思の『安楽行儀』『大乗止観法門』『諸法無諍三味法門』『立請願文』『授菩薩戒儀』,慧思の弟子・天台智〓の『禅門口決』,『観心論』である。禅宗系のものとしては、新たに『歴代法宝記』『伝決宝紀』『修心要論』等の初期文献、新たに敦煌文献(北京蔵)の中から発見された、『禅策問答』『残禅宗文献』などである。また、実践思想の根幹となる『四分律』文献の入力も新たに開始した。(未完)これらのコーパスの解折に必要なソフトウェアを購入し、あるいは専門家の協力を得て開発し、分折を行なった。得られた知見は99方面にわたるが、主たる部分をあげれば、南岳慧思の著作は『大乗起信論』との顕著な類似を示し、また偽作と見られていたものは、数値解折の結果、従来の所説の妥当性が推測された。これによって、電算処理の正当性が保証されることとなった。今後、方法を洗練させることによってより秀れた分折能力をもたせ得るであろう。また、同一人の著述でも、常に一定の傾向にあると限らないのも当然のことである。なお、禅宗文献との比較も試みたが、禅宗文献それ自体がばらつきが大きく、個人の単独著作が少ないという事情もあり、有効な分折結果は得られなかった。語録という得な文献のマクロとミクロの視点から、更に分方法を開発していくことが必要である。以上が、ひとまずの結論と、今後の課題である。
