今回研究の成果を,当初掲げられた研究計画に即して述べる.なお,対象となった難聴児は,4歳1ヶ月から4歳9ヶ月,平均聴力レベルは良耳で98dBから119dBの3名である.われわれがこれまで取り組んできた事例の中で最も年少かつ重度の幼児である.1.かな文字習得のための教育実験:5月の訓練開始時点で文字を獲得していた者は1名,他の2名は未獲得であった.ゴッコ遊びを中心とした9月までの10回の訓練の中で,文字に対する関心が高まり,絵と文字のマッチングにより,単語の読み書きが可能になり,後に文のレベルでも可能(音節分解能力を形成することができた)となった.以後,統辞機能形成のための訓練はこの間形成された文字の読み書き能力を利用して行われた.2.統語機能形成のための教育実験:事前テストの結果では,格助詞の理解と使用は不可能であった.われわれの考案したプログラムを用いた,9〜12月までの指導を受けた結果,三語一文で格助詞を手がかりにその文の意味を理解したり産出する統語方略が,対象児において達成された.これらの中には以下の新たな知見が含まれる.(1)指導開始が,これまで考えられていたものより早期(4歳1ヶ月)でも良いという見通しが得られた.(2)最重度の子ども(左右平均聴力119.5dB)でも統語方略を形成でき,格関係の理解を幼児早期に促進できる.(3)今回の方法論のメインの一つは,指文字を導入して,格の存在をまず教え,指文字の運動感覚成分を文構成や理解の手がかりにすることであった.この方法は難聴の程度の重い子どもほど有効であることがわかった.3.今年度の研究で,一応,統辞機能形成のためのプログラムの基本的枠組みは,ほぼできあがったと考える.次年度以降は,県内の聴覚障害児童の統辞機能および学力の発達水準の実態を調査で明らかにし,一般的に指摘される「9歳の壁」の問題を克服するための心理学的法論を開発することが,主要な課題となる.
