1.ロシア沿海地方の先史時代における作物コンプレックスロシア科学アカデミー極東支部に保管されていた、沿海地方の遺跡から出土した作物について調査した結果、各時期において下記のような作物群が存在したことが明らかとなった。1)ヤンコフスキー文化;当文化のマラヤ・パドシェスカ遺跡から出土したオオムギの年代測定を行った結果、2、510±80y.B.P.の測定が得られ、これまでは上位のオリガ文化期とされていたオオムギがヤンコフスキー文化期のものであることが明らかとなった。当文化期の作物としてはキビとオオムギが存在したことになる。2)クロノフカ文化;オオムギ、コムギ、キビ、アワ、小豆、エンドウ豆、エゴマ。3)オリガ文化;オオムギ、キビ、アワ。なお、当文化のシニア・スカリ遺跡出土のオオムギについて年代測定を行った結果、1,490±80y.B.P.というこれまで推定されていた年代観に合致した測定値が得られた。4)渤海文化;オオムギ、コムギ、キビ、アワ、モロコシ、ソバ、小豆、エゴマ、アサ。5)女真文化;オオムギ、コムギ、ライムギ(カラスムギ)、キビ、アワ、ヒエ、ソバ、小豆、エンドウ豆、エゴマ、アサ、ベニバナ。2.オホーツク文化の遺跡から出土した作物当文化期の4遺跡から栽培植物が検出され、これまで穀物とは無縁とされてきたオホーツク文化の集団も栽培 種を食料資源の一部としていたことが明らかとなった。(1)網走市二ツ岩遺跡(9世紀後半);オオムギ、キビ、アワ (2)湧別町川西遺跡(9世紀);オオムギ、キビ、アワ (3)枝幸町目梨泊遺跡(8世紀);オオムギ、アワ、キビ (4)雄武町雄武竪穴群遺跡(8世紀);オオムギ、キビこのなかでオオムギは、長さに比較し幅の広い「擦文オオムギ」と仮称されているものに類似した形態を示し、本州東北地方や北海道中央部〜南西部の遺跡から出土しているものとは異なった形態を持つ。したがって、オホーツク 文化の遺跡から出土したオオムギが本州東北地方から渡来したものとは考えられない。類似した形態を持ったオオムギは沿海地方のヤンコフスキー文化期から女真文化期までの遺跡から出土しており、オホーツク文化の栽培植物は大陸から渡来したものと考えられる。この時期、大陸からは鉄、青銅製の金属器、ガラス製品などが渡来しており、その際に栽培種が持ち込まれたものと考えられる。
