Research on the Investigation of Consciousness on the Ethical View about Medicine and Life Ethics that Dentists have as Seen by Local Residents

本研究旨在调查当地居民对牙医的医学伦理观和生活伦理的看法，检视当今社会所需要的牙医形象，并将研究结果用于牙科学生的教育。调查对象为10个市、7个镇、5个村的4291人，其中男性1231人，女性3060人，采用集体访谈法，利用所编制的调查问卷进行调查。“足够实际”和“一般”分别占3.7%和49.8%。认为牙科专业学生有必要进行医学伦理教育的占71.1%。此外，在回答“执业”和“一般”的群体中，对牙科治疗的不满和对牙医的需求很少，表明当地居民希望牙医的医学伦理得到实践。另外，在牙科治疗方面，回答“在接受牙科治疗时感到尴尬”的人占50.1%，约占一半。作为具体内容，就诊周期、就诊次数、等待时间等与就诊便利性相关的项目较多，诊疗内容和说明不足。此外，对于牙医和患者之间出现问题的原因，回答“解释不充分”的人也很多。在对牙医的需求方面，需要提高治疗技术，严谨诊疗，可靠的牙医，以及对诊疗内容的充分说明。此外，年轻一代、女性和城市居民的需求也很高。

It was aimed at to investigate how local residents consider on the ethical view about medicine and life ethics that dentists have, to examine tha image of dentists which is wanted in present day society, and to utilize the results for the education of dental students.The objects were 4291 people (1231 males and 3060 females) in 10 cities, 7 towns and 5 villages, and the investigation was carried out by collective interview method using the questionnaire being prepared.As to the state of practicing the ethics about medicine by dentists, "Sufficiently practical" and "Average" were 3.7% and 49.8%, respectively.And those considering that the lecture of the ethics about medicine is necessary for dental students were found by 71.1%. Further, in the groups who answered "Being practiced" and "Average" for the ethics about medicine, the dissatisfaction dental treatment and the demand to dentists were little, and it was suggested that local residents want the practice of the ethics about medicine for dentists.Besides, as to dental treatment, those who answered that they have experienced embarrassment by receiving dental treatment were 50.1% which was equivalent to about one half. As the concrete contents, there were many items related to the convenience of receiving treatment such as the period and the number of times of treatment, waiting time and others, and others, and the contents of diagnosis and treatment and insufficient explanation.Further, there were many people who answered "Due to insufficient explanation" as the cause of the problems arising between dentists and patients. As for the demand to dentists, the improvement of treatment techniques, scrupulous diagnosis and treatment, reliable dentists, and the sufficient explanation of the contents of diagnosis and treatment have been wanted. Also, the demands were high in younger generation, female and city residents.
