1.単位開円板の2葉の被覆面上での有界正則関数の点分離問題について新しい進展があった。分岐点が無限個で、単位円周上にゆっくりと集積している場合、被覆面上に有界正則関数は、単位開円板上のものと同じものしか存在せず、被覆面としての幾何的複雑さが有界正則関数になんら反映されない。ところが、分岐点を中心として小さな閉円板を取りいた場合小閉円板の半径を変えることで、この現象が起こったり、起こらなかったりする。名工大の中井三留氏、大同工大の瀬川重雄氏と共同研究で、小閉円板の半径を数量的に評価することに成功たが、この結果得るために求めた条件のどの程度良いものか不明であった。この2年間にわたる、山口大の加藤崇雄との共同研究により、点分離条件を改良し先の結果がある意味で限界を極めていることを突き止めた。このために、定められ点で単純な極・零点をもつ有理型関数で、与えられた領域で有界となるものを構成するための新しい発想を必要とした。この結果は、既に、学会や複数の研究会で報告しており、現在、論文としてまとめている最中である。また、その後、新しい展開があり、次年度には結果として発表できるところまで至っている。2.中路氏は、二次元の多重開円板上のハ-ディ族、不変部分空間、乗作用関数、などを研究し、井上氏は可換バナッハ環上のゲルファント変換と擬位相の研究を行った。彼らの研究により、本研究についての多くの刺激を受け、新しいアイデアを得る上で助けになった。さらに、本研究課題の達成のために、研究討論、資料収集、研究打ち合わせなどでも重要な役割分担して頂いた。
